Is this a label to die for, or what? Gierholtt made these stick motors in 1920 and 1921, but their styling is from the turn of the century to my eye! The company exhibited remarkably poor timing as they introduced this stick motor one year before the Johnson Waterbug AND Caille was already in the public's mind with the Liberty if they wanted a shallow water motor!! They may have had a more global market in mind...I have to dig out another article that is here somewhere.
(If you search for Gierholtt online, get used to search engines thinking you spelled it wrong!)
They are uncommon... much harder to find the the Caille stick motors. There were two Gierholtts on display at the 2015 AOMCI Northwoods Chapter Tomahawk meet in August.

I am sticking in this other photo that you may have already seen on Jack's Gierholtt page, but it is too good not to share in case you have not been there :-)
