1915 Chart - Interesting List of Outboards In Production

Can you tell we are still on the road?  I am tracking down this and that using Google as Jack endlessly drives into the sun.

One thing new this morning is this interesting chart of all marine motors in production in 1915  (so they say), including outboards.  The outboard chart, a small inset, is on page two.  Scroll up to see some photos of some of the outboards included.  Note the page control buttons in the upper right.

Assuming their chart is accurate, and their introduction on the previous page makes one feel they really tried to make it so, there is some interesting stuff in it.  The Strelinger stick motor was there with the name "Strelmotor. I have never seen that before.  Sounds like an attempt to update their image.  If their listed weight of 160 pounds was accurate, it was going to take more than a hipper name to compete.

  • Later: I looked for the new Strelmotor name and found it nowhere else...has anyone seen it outside of this issue of Motor Boating?
